About Us

I used to get in trouble for drifting off in class.
Teachers thought I wasn’t paying attention, but honestly my mind was just somewhere else most of the time.

I grew up between London and Nigeria, so from early I always felt slightly in-between everything. Different accents, different expectations, different versions of myself depending on where I was.

A lot of the time I felt absent physically or mentally, not because I didn’t care, but because I was always thinking about what else was possible. Music, fashion, football, ideas, culture, building things. My head was never fully in one place.

Looking back now, I realise a lot of people like me probably felt the same way. Too Nigerian somewhere, too British somewhere else. Never fully fitting one thing.

absnt. came from that feeling.

The brand is really about identity, movement, ambition, and growing up influenced by multiple worlds at once. Lagos, London, internet culture, music, streetwear, family, pressure, creativity, all of it mixes together.

I didn’t want to make “African streetwear” in the typical way.
I wanted it to feel honest to how we actually grew up and how our generation sees culture now.

If you get it, you get it.

The culture built itself.
I just made the uniform.
